You do the learning.
We'll handle the rest.
A study secretary for college students. It gathers what's due across your classes and shows you what's due first.

The busywork that gets in the way.
Every term starts the same way. Here's what Kickstudy does about it.
Back from break. Six syllabi.
You haven't opened a single one, and something is due Wednesday.
Say “start”. See the three things that matter this week.
Being builtA week behind, and scared to open Canvas.
Sick for three days. Every tab you open is another red badge.
Do this one thing first. The rest is re-planned for you to check.
PlannedA deadline hidden in the instructions.
The project is due in two weeks. Paragraph four says part 1 is due this Friday.
Hidden steps pulled out as their own dates, with the line they came from.

How it works
One secretary for your time and your learning.
Here's what works today in our own test build, and what we're still building.
Your time
- Works todayReads assignments, due dates and submission status, plus each course's home page, syllabus and the pages they link to directly, from the Canvas classes you choose. Only when you click, read-only. One school's Canvas so far. It doesn't read announcements, files or discussions, so keep checking those in Canvas.
- Being builtAsk in plain words: “start”, or “what's due this week?”
- PlannedRe-plans your week when you fall behind, and tells you when to start big assignments.
- PlannedYour own tasks and goals next to your classes.
Your learning
- Being builtBuilt-in integrity rules: hints, not answers, for graded work by default, and no help with a quiz or exam while Canvas dates show it open.
- Being builtKickstudy doesn't decide what your class allows. You choose each course's case, or turn AI off for it.
- PlannedSummaries of your course materials, and a catch-up plan when you've missed classes.
Why a browser extension?
A website can't read your class pages: browsers keep sites apart for your safety. The Kickstudy extension reads only when you click, inside your own browser, and never sees your password. It isn't available to the public yet.
Where we're going
Further down the road.
These are ideas we're working toward. They aren't available today, and we don't promise dates.
A weekly review table
What you covered this week, the problem types that go with it, and a box to tick once you've really got it.
Exam prep from your own course
Likely topics and how each problem type is solved, drawn only from your course's materials, plus a review plan counted back from exam day.
A goal, in weekly steps
“I want to do research next summer” becomes a few small steps each week that fit around your classes.
Applications, a little at a time
Small weekly pieces instead of one mountain in junior year. Coaching only: you write every word.
Privacy
Your study data is stored on your computer.
What it does
- Works todayYour study data is stored in your own browser and isn't backed up or synced anywhere. Delete it any time.
- PlannedExport everything, any time, to a file you keep.
- PlannedBefore any AI feature is offered, the extension's notice will name the AI provider, exactly what is sent, and how long it is kept.
Our promises
- PromiseWe never sell student data.
- PromiseIf Kickstudy ever shuts down, we'll tell you in advance, before asking you to uninstall.
- PromiseThis website uses no trackers or ad scripts.
- PromiseIf Kickstudy is sold or merged, your data goes only to an owner that keeps these promises, and we tell you first.

Integrity
Built-in integrity rules.
Kickstudy helps you plan and understand. It doesn't do your graded work.
- Works todayNever submits or edits anything in Canvas. Like any visit, its reads can show up in Canvas activity logs your instructors can see.
- Works todayNever asks for your password or a Canvas token.
- Being builtNo help with a quiz or exam while Canvas dates show it open, in that quiz's or exam's conversation or when you name it. It can't recognize questions pasted into another conversation without naming the quiz or exam, and quizzes or exams with no dates in Canvas aren't paused.
- Being builtHints, not answers, for graded work by default.
- Being builtKickstudy doesn't decide what your class allows. You choose each course's case; if a class bans AI, turn AI off for it.
Questions
Is Kickstudy part of my school or of Instructure?
No. Kickstudy is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university or by Instructure. Canvas is a trademark of Instructure, Inc.
Can I use it now?
Not yet. The extension is in private testing at one school, and a small invite-only beta is planned. Invites aren't open yet; check back here. The test build is still named “Study Secretary”; invites will use the Kickstudy name.
Does it work at my school?
Not yet. The test build reads one school's Canvas.
Does it work without Canvas?
That's planned: add your own tasks or import a calendar file. Today the extension reads Canvas. This website can already show your next two weeks from a calendar file (see “Try it”).
Is it free?
The beta is free. Pricing hasn't been decided.
Why not just a website?
Browsers don't let one website read your pages on another site, so a website can't see your classes. The extension can, only when you click, inside your own browser.
Will it do my homework?
No. Kickstudy helps you plan and understand. For graded work it gives hints, not answers, by default, and it won't help with a quiz or exam while Canvas dates show it open (both being built; see Integrity for the limits).
Which browsers?
The extension is built for Chrome on a computer; Edge will be checked before invites. This website works anywhere.
I'm an instructor. How does Kickstudy treat my course?
It never submits or edits anything. Being built: hints only on graded work by default, and no help with a quiz or exam while Canvas dates show it open. It can't recognize quiz or exam questions a student pastes into another conversation without naming the quiz or exam, and quizzes or exams with no dates in Canvas aren't paused. Students choose each course's AI case or turn AI off; Kickstudy doesn't decide for them. Questions or concerns: hello@kickstudy.app. We reply within a week.
Who is building it?
A college student in California, as an independent project.
